Strategic Insights for Korea’s Future in the New World Order
Yvonne Park, President of FleishmanHillard Korea, recently spoke at the CEO Forum hosted by Reddal and the European Chamber of Commerce in Korea (ECCK). The prestigious event, held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at the Four Seasons Hotel Seoul, convened under the timely theme, “Building the Future Korea in the New World Order.”
During the forum, distinguished panelists shared diverse perspectives and actionable insights for the new administration. Yvonne Park emphasized that now is the time for Korea—its people and businesses alike—to move beyond survival and focus on thrive. She highlighted that Korea’s future depends on a collective ability to shift mindsets, embrace bold policies, and champion solutions that foster resilience in the face of rapidly changing and complex global landscape.
A significant point of focus was corporate governance and capital market reform, a key policy commitment. Yvonne Park advocated for a comprehensive approach that includes strengthening protection for minority shareholders and addressing the underlying causes of poor governance. She also drew attention to the urgent need for inheritance tax reform, pointing out that the current system has not been adjusted for inflation in decades.
While a consensus on the necessity of these reforms is emerging, political hesitation—often driven by concerns of being perceived as “cutting taxes for the rich”—continues to impede progress. Yvonne Park stressed the importance of a thoughtful, data-driven evaluation of the real impact of these policies and urged political leadership to adopt a forward-thinking mindset to achieve ambitious goals like KOSPI 5000.
The forum also incorporated a deep dive into Korea’s deep tech ecosystem, drawing upon insights from a recently published report by Reddal.
FleishmanHillard Korea extends its sincere gratitude to Reddal, all participating panelists, and attendees for their contributions to this meaningful dialogue.
