Navigating Trump 2.0: Washington Outlook & Communication Strategies for Korean Businesses

On November 13, FleishmanHillard Public Affairs team, in collaboration with the Korea International Trade Association’s Washington office, hosted a seminar titled ‘Trump 2.0 Era: Washington Outlook and PA (Public Affairs) Communication Strategies for Korean Companies.’

The event was specifically designed for executives of Korean companies based in Washington, D.C.

The seminar included insightful presentations by Michael Schmidt, Public Affairs leader at FleishmanHillard Washington D.C. office, and John Lonergan, Partner at Mercury Public Affairs. Yvonne Park, President of FleishmanHillard Korea, served as the moderator and led a dynamic Q&A session with the attendees.

The time for companies to prepare is now.

  1. Companies should closely monitor the incoming administration, keeping a finger on the pulse of new developments.
  2. They need to assess risks, opportunities, and both physical and relational assets—such as manufacturing facilities and connections with policymakers at the federal and state levels.
  3. Update stakeholder mappings in Washington and key regions to ensure alignment with evolving priorities.
  4. Develop new narratives and test messaging tailored for effective communication with Trump administration officials and Republican stakeholders.

FleishmanHillard Public Affairs team is ready to provide agile and comprehensive support to help companies navigate this landscape effectively.
